These would be great pictures for covers on books where witches meet to talk to ghosts, or that last house could be sentient and magical for the other paranormals in the area. Lol
The third haunted house is my favorite too. I also like the atmospheric weather. Novels involving haunted houses and isolated mansions have been so popular since people began writing novels. And today if you are looking for a book involving a haunted house you have an embarrassment of riches to choose from and I couldn't be happier about this.
Those are all great houses. It really makes me sad to see old buildings like those that are slowly disappearing as nature reclaims them. I realize that the cost of restoring and keeping up something like these is prohibitive, but I can't help but think we will regret it someday when they are all gone.
I'm with you on house style! I've yet to make a Queen Anne style house that I don't want to move into and the more turreted the better! Can't you just imagine a reading nook in that upstairs room with all the windows - provided the ghosts are behaving of course.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of that last house being sentient and magical! :D

ReplyDeleteI love those kinds of books, too! Reading about haunted houses is one of my favorite things. :D
DeleteSuch wonderful houses. They all deserve to be restored to their glory.
ReplyDeleteI agree! If only I had the money... ;D
DeleteThe last one is my favorite too. Just think of all the stories it could tell! :D
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that make for a great book?
DeleteLOL, yes, they all do look haunted, but fun!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go through each of them and just see what they're like inside. (As long as the floors were intact, of course.) ;D
DeleteAll three of these houses look very haunted. My husband was just reading a book about buying older houses very cheaply and fixing them up.
ReplyDeleteLately, no houses are cheap to buy where I live. It's too bad really. I'd love to fix one up.
DeleteThere's that special gothicky look that some abandoned American houses have. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love it, too!
DeleteOh my... those ARE scary!!
ReplyDeleteEspecially that top one, right?
DeleteFun post and I agree that all three look haunted. The third one is my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteIt's just so cool looking!
DeleteAll 3 of these definitely look like they might have a ghost or two in residence.
ReplyDeleteYes they do...makes you wonder who lived and died there, doesn't it?
DeleteFun and timely post.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm with you! Sure they're haunted, but I'd love to get one of them fixed up, numbers 1 or 3 by preference.
Yes! If only I had the money to spend on a project like that.
DeleteThese houses definitely look creepy! #3 looks great on a book cover.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it? That'd be a book I'd definitely check out.
DeleteAll scary
ReplyDeleteBut fun! :D
DeleteOooh, these are fabulous. I'm with you on the 3rd one -- those windows and turrets make me want to live in a fixed-up (and de-haunted) version of it!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to own a house with a turret! (And a secret stairway or hidden room inside. ;D )
DeleteI just can't resist a spooky looking house! Set your book there, and I'm definitely reading it!
ReplyDeleteI so agree!

ReplyDeleteI'm sad they're disappearing, too. Old houses add so much history to a neighborhood, I hate to see them torn down.
DeleteOoo, these are fantastic! Old abandoned houses are my cup of tea. I always wonder what the story is behind them, and how many ghosts are left inside.
ReplyDeleteI love to wonder those kinds of things, too. It's probably why I love to read hautned house stories so much.
DeleteThat first house whoa ... is that somewhere you've seen?
ReplyDeleteJust online. But I really like the look of it.

ReplyDeleteIt would make the best reading nook ever! :D
DeleteThey all look so creepy! Could definitely imagine them being haunted. The 3rd's my fav too!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to live in a house like that. :D
DeleteSo spooky!! But they could all be beautiful if restored.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't they? They've got great bones.
