Begin Again by Emma Lord |
See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon (warning: explicit language) |
Things these two entertaining YA novels have in common:
Amusing mishaps
College setting
Humorous banter
Relatable characters
Unexpected friendships
Compelling plots
Romance
Happy endings
I haven't been reading too many YA novels lately because so many of them have been sadly disappointing...but I thought both of these books were a lot of fun. The stories were well written, the plots clever, and the endings of both made me smile. Check them out!
Happy Reading!
Thanks for sharing two thumbs up for both of these books.
ReplyDeleteThey're both enjoyable and entertaining books.
DeleteI haven't read any YA in while either but oddly enough I'm about to start The Mapmakers by Tamzin Merchant. Although rather than YA I think it might be what you would call middle -grade. I will report back!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about The Mapmakers and if it's one you'd recommend! :D
DeleteAnnoyingly I realised as soon as I started that it's the 'second' book in series. Well, rats. I shall pop it back to the library and see if they have book one while I'm there. *Sighs*
DeleteSee You Yesterday looks fun. I haven't been reading much YA lately either, but it's nice t odiscover a good one :)
ReplyDeleteI liked how Solomon handled the whole time loop scenario with her two main characters. :D
DeleteThe tropes sound good to me! Will keep these books in mind. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you'd like them.
DeleteI do like the sound of these!
ReplyDeleteThey were both very fun. And I always like that college setting. :)
DeleteHi Lark. I am not familiar with what's going on in the YA market and thank for alerting us to these finds. Of the two books I am drawn to See You Yesterday. The description of the book sounds interesting. Two characters forced to relive the same day over and over. What might they learn about themselves in the process?
ReplyDeleteThe time loop in See You Yesterday was a fun premise. And I enjoyed seeing how the two main characters related to one another and worked together to figure a way out of the loop. And I loved the ending.
DeleteBoth of these sound fun. I don't often read YA books unless they are fantasy, but sometimes I do pick up ones that aren't and enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteEvery once in awhile I stumble on a really good YA novel. And these two were both fun reads.
DeleteThanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThese sound great! I haven't been reading as much YA either, but I'm glad to hear these were good. :D
ReplyDeleteIf you love that college setting (which I do) then you'd like these...especially Begin Again.
DeleteThey both look fun, glad you enjoyed them!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to find two humorous and entertaining YA books for a change.
DeleteGlad you recommend them, because they're both on my TBR! I've enjoyed other books by Emma Lord. See You Yesterday will be my first book by the author.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't ever read anything by either of these authors, but I liked these books enough I'd happily try some of their other books. :D
DeleteI really liked Begin Again and will have to check out See You Yesterday sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteBegin Again was a lot of fun! I liked it a little more than See You Yesterday, but both were entertaining books.
DeleteI'm not much of a YA reader but I like that these are college settings vs high school and these sound good!
ReplyDeleteI always like that college setting in books. It's one of my favorite settings.
DeleteHopefully you will find some more good YA novels to read.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed...though I don't care as much if it's YA as long as it's a good read, you know?
DeleteThanks for putting these on my radar. I love college settings.
ReplyDeleteI love college settings, too! :D
DeleteI haven't read a ton of YA lately either, but these do sound good!
ReplyDeleteThey kept me reading all the way to the end, which a lot of YA doesn't do these days. And they had some funny and heartwarming moments, too.
DeleteI could do with some fun YA too!
ReplyDeleteThese two books are both humorous and entertaining. I think you would like them.
DeleteI've read several books by these authors not these two - definitely going on my TBR. I especially liked The Ex-Talk.
ReplyDeleteThen you'll probably really like both of these, too. :D
DeleteI really don't read many YA novels but do like to add at least one or two a year to my reading goals. Will have to take note of these!
ReplyDeleteIf you're ever in the mood for a book with a college setting, then these are entertaining and humorous reads. Especially Begin Again.
