Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's theme:  GENRE FREEBIE

I decided to go with one of my favorite genres: Twisty Thrillers. You know, those books that keep you in suspense all the way to the end and  make you say, "Wow! I did not see that coming."

The Assignment by Mark Andrew Olsen

Chasers (Alone #1) by James Phelan

Lightning by Dean Koontz

Oops! That's 12 books. Oh, well. It is one of my most favorite genres, so that makes it hard to narrow it down to just 10 books. And all of these are so good. At least, I loved them all.

Happy Reading!

  2. Definitely a good list, Lark! I've read 3 or 4 of them and enjoyed them a lot. Will check out the others and see if they might work for me. I also like the twisty thrillers. :-)

  3. I do love a good twist. My favorite is still the twist in Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney😁

  8. I don't read a ton of thrillers but I do love a book that can keep me in suspense, so I'll have to look up some of these titles.

    1. :D Thanks, Cindy. After I'd posted it, I realized I'd done a similar post a few years back with some of the same books on it. Oh, well! If I didn't remember I'm sure no one else will either.

  10. While I don't like surprise endings or cliffhangers, I appreciate it when the villain ends up being someone I don't expect or something unexpected happens that makes total sense by the end. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog, Lark.

    1. I love a good twist...but I have read books where the twist at the end kind of ruined the whole book. It can definitely go both ways. :D

  11. I love Twisty Thrillers! I have not heard of any of the ones you've listed. I will have to check them out. Have you read The Familiar Dark by Amy Engel? I read it a few years ago and loved it.

  12. Considering I read a lot of thrillers, I'm surprised that I've only read 3 of these. I chose Crime Thriller series for my TTT this week.

  13. I guess I'm not much of a thriller reader, because I haven't read any of these! It's been many years since I read a Dean Koontz book -- but I remember how totally absorbed I was every time I picked up one of his books!

    1. I used to read Koontz all the time and I loved his books; but I haven't ready any of his books in years. The one time I tried one of his more recent books I ended up DNFing it because it just wasn't as good as his earlier books.

  14. I haven't read any of these and that's surprising considering mystery/thriller is my most read genre! I'll note these! :)

  17. I’ve read quite a few thrillers over the years - they are often “comfort reads” for me - but none of the ones you’ve listed, so I’ve got to check into these a little closer. Luckily for the authors, I’m easily fooled, one of those readers that usually take the bait or get lost in the smokescreen.
