Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme is MAY FLOWERS. But since that's such a broad category, I decided to narrow my list down to books and titles with gardens in them.
Enjoy!
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
The Wishing Garden by Christy Yorke
A Robot in the Garden by Deborah Install
The Kew Gardens Girls by Posy Lovell
The Last Garden in England by Julia Kelly
The Twilight Garden by Sara Nisha Adams
I've read the first seven books on this list, but not the last three.
Those are on my TBR list however.
Got any favorite "garden" books?
Happy Reading!
The White Garden looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday.
Lydia
I really liked The White Garden.
DeleteThe only book with garden in the title that comes to mind is The Winter Garden. A tough read at times, but so moving. I've not read any of the ones you shared here, but I'm definitely familiar with several of the authors.
ReplyDeleteI almost included that one...though it's not one that I've read.
DeleteI’m curious about A Robot in the Garden.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Astilbe
It was a fun read...and a book I picked up for just 5 cents at a used library book sale...which made it even better. :D
DeleteGarden Spells is a book I have seen a lot and I've tried to read a while back but couldn't get into it.
ReplyDeleteI can only think of The secret garden by Burnett which is one of my favorite classic books.
Have a lovely day.
I almost put The Secret Garden on my list. But I like Burnett's The Little Princess better, so I didn't.
DeleteThese are beautiful. Regine
ReplyDeleteThank you, Regine! 🌸
DeleteThis is such a fun topic! The Twilight Garden has such a beautiful cover, and I'm so curious about A Robot in the Garden. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you love The Twilight Garden cover? I'm excited to read that one. And I thought A Robot in the Garden was a very cute read.
DeleteLove your list of books for this weeks TTT post. I chose ten books I've read with a flower name in the title for this weeks TTT post.
ReplyDelete:D Can't wait to check out your list!
DeleteI've only read Garden Spells and Murder in the Royal Botanic Garden. I can add the classic Elizabeth of the German Garden, a great biography of Elizabeth von Arnim.
ReplyDeleteI've only read Arnim's Enchanted April...but I did love that one. :D
DeleteA great twist on this week's topic! I have The Last Garden in England on my TBR, and hope to be able to get to it soon.

It looks like a good one. Happy reading! :D
DeleteWhat an interesting meme. But then gardens and books do sort of go together, don't they?
ReplyDeleteThey really do! It wasn't hard to come up with titles for this list...only a bit hard narrowing it down to ten. :D
DeleteI think I have The Kew Gardens one on my Kindle. Some interesting suggestions here, Lark! My favourite garden book is a non-fiction, The Morville Hours by Katherine Swift, such a beautiful book.
ReplyDeleteIf you liked it then I would probably really like The Morville Hours, too. I'll have to see if my library has a copy. :D
DeleteGreat idea, Lark! Of course it immediately makes me check Goodreads to see what my list would look like. I know I would have at least one, The Secret Garden. I would have been able to find 6 ;)
ReplyDeleteGardens and flowers seem to be very popular in both book titles and on covers. It was hard to narrow my list down this week. :D
DeleteA very nice choice of books. I haven't read them but I like many of the covers. The one novel that stands out for me is White Garden because I have Stephanie Barron's Jane and the Unpleasantness at Sargrave Manor book and must read it!
ReplyDeleteI really liked White Garden...probably because of the Virginia Woolf connection.
DeleteOoh, beautiful collection of covers, and I love the garden theme! The only garden book that comes to mind for me is The Secret Garden... oh, and I actually just read a creepy book called The Garden, but the fact that it already slipped my mind is a pretty good indication of how much I liked it. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought about putting The Secret Garden on this list, but I had to narrow it done to ten books, so that one didn't make the cut. But it is a classic garden book.
DeleteBeautiful! Quite a few of them intrigued me! The Last Garden in England, The Twilight Garden, A Robot in the Garden - I need to go check them out!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! And thanks for commenting. :D
DeleteWow who knew there were so many gardens in titles?! The murder at the Botanical Garden sounds good. Great list.
ReplyDeleteThat series by Andrea Pentrose is one of my favorites. I love the characters in it. :D
DeleteNice list! I appreciate a beautiful, colorful garden, especially since I can't grow plants for the life of me. I just don't have a green thumb at all, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
I don't have a green them either. My grandma could grow anything, and my dad was really good with roses, but me? Even when I try really hard my house plants all die. ;D
DeleteI haven't read any on your list, but I've read a few books where a garden was involved: Witch of Wild Things and Bittersweet in the Hollow both feature gardening and are magical. I'm sure I've read more. I love it when gardening is featured, as I love gardening! :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was better at gardening in real life, but I do love reading about it. And both Witch of Wild Things and Bittersweet in the Hollow sound like books I would really like. Thanks for the rec! :D
DeleteThe only one of these I can personally vouch for is Stephanie Barron's The White Garden. I really like d that one a lot, especially because of the tie-in to Virginia Woolf. I think my favorite book of all time that had the word "garden" in the title is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I liked about The White Garden, too. And it's why I read it in the first place; I was going through a Virgina Woolf phase and was reading all her books as well as other books about her. And I forgot about Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil! I liked that book a lot, too...and it would have been perfect for this list.
DeleteAll these book covers are lovely, I need to read some of them. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/top-10-books-with-flowers-on-the-cover/
ReplyDeleteThanks for you comment! :D
DeleteOoooh, gardens! I could have added books with garden in the title. But I had a huge choice already. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job.
Thanks for visiting my post.
The hardest part about this TTT was narrowing down all the many possibilities to just ten titles. ;D
DeleteThat's often the problem. I have found a "Top Five" challenge and thought, that must be even worse. Weirdly enough, it's not. It's easier to find your favourite five and then stop.
DeleteI'll have to try one of those instead some time.
DeleteI have done Top Ten so often and the subjects are repeated. So, now I just do the new ones and sometimes one of the Top Five. That way, it's still fun.
DeleteI haven't read any of those books, but one I enjoyed is The Secret Garden.
ReplyDeleteI almost put that one on my list. :D
DeleteThe White Garden is on my must-read list. Great list of garden-connected books and the covers are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed The White Garden; I hope you get a chance to read it soon. :D
DeleteI have had Garden Spells on my TBR shelf for quite a while and I still haven't read it. I am interested in The Twilight Garden. I enjoyed the author's previous book.
ReplyDeleteI loved Sara Nisha Adams previous book! And Garden Spells is one I read years ago and liked well enough to buy a copy for myself. Of course, I haven't gone back to reread it yet. But that seems to happen a lot in my bookish world. ;D
DeleteI loved your take on this topic. I loved Garden Spells and The Last Garden in England but I see several more that I need to add to my TBR.
ReplyDeleteThey're all good!
DeleteI haven't read any of these yet, but I do love a garden setting! Lovely choices this week!
