Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's theme is supposed to be "Books I was Super Excited to Get My Hands on but Still Haven't Read." Only I wasn't feeling this one; so I decided to go rogue and do my own thing instead.
Here's my list of 10 Favorite Books Read in May Over the last 10 Years. It was actually really fun to go back to 2013 and continue forward to 2023 and see what books I was reading each May...my very own bookish walk down memory lane. (And if any of these books interest you, I've included a link to my original review posts.)
From 2015: The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett
From 2016: Those Jensen Boys! by William W. Johnstone
From 2019: A Merciful Secret by Kendra Elliot
From 2020: Desperate Creed by Alex Kava
From 2021: The Twenty-Ninth Day by Alex Messenger
From 2022: Tunnel 29 by Helena Merriman
And from 2023: Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan
Happy Reading!
Fun topic, Lark! I enjoyed several of Annabel Monaghan's YA books many years ago but have not yet read any of her adult novels.
ReplyDeleteI think you would really like Nora Goes Off Script! It's such a great romance.
DeleteSuch a variety of genres and interests!
ReplyDeleteThis list does show how widely I like to read. :D
DeleteLark, I love that you went rogue :) That's so cool to see what your faves were in all those Mays. Great post!
ReplyDeleteIt was very fun to look back and see what I was reading...and to remember how good all of these books were. :D
DeleteThis is such a fun topic, Lark! It's nice to take a trip down memory lane. :D
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of fun doing it. so much so, I might just do it again sometime. :D
DeleteThe Girl in the Green Sweater looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday.
Lydia
It's such a good story...even more so because it actually happened.
DeleteThat was a good "substitute" list, quite varied, too. Of the ten, the only one I've read is The Uncommon Reader. That was one of my favorites that year, and turned me on to the author for the first time.
ReplyDeleteI loved The Uncommon Reader! That's one I could definitely go back and read again. :D
DeleteOooh! All of these books look interesting! Great list!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT
Rabbit Ears Book Blog: WORLD’S WEIRDEST BOOK BLOG!
Thanks for commenting! :D
DeleteI love Simone St. James. I'm trying to get caught up with her earlier books.
ReplyDeleteHer earlier books are my favs. :D
DeleteWhat an interesting line-up of May reads.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun reminder of some of the books I've read over the past ten years. :D
DeleteWhat a great idea for a Top Ten. I might pick that up one day.
ReplyDeleteThe only book I read from your list is "The Uncommon Reader". Indeed, uncommon and good.
I really enjoyed that one! :D
DeleteLoved this topic, Lark! I haven't read any of these myself, but The Twenty-Ninth Day definitely caught my eye. Off to check that one out! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you like survival stories it's a good one. And it's true! :D
DeleteI love that you went with your own topic! Nora Goes Off Script was so good -- it was one of my top books that year too. And I loved The Uncommon Reader. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't feeling the other topic, but this ended up being a lot of fun. I love looking back at favorite reads, and remembering what I loved about these books. :D
DeleteOh man, I almost got Nora Goes Off Script form the Libby App yesterday. Will have to check if it's still available. Fun TTT!
ReplyDeleteI love that book! Nora is so great, and I loved her and Leo Vance together, and her kids made me laugh. Such a good read.
DeleteFun idea for a list! I really liked AN INQUIRY INTO LOVE AND DEATH and THE UNCOMMON READER.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Those are two of my favs! :D
DeleteThis is a great topic. One I need to remember!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy and surprisingly fun. :D
DeleteGreat substitution, Lark! I wouldn't mind working up this topic! I loved An Inquiry into Love and Death and also A Merciful Secret! There's a few here I'd love to look into. I just clicked over to The Twenty-Ninth Day and remembered that that was a biography I'd like to read. I'll have to see if they have it at my library! :)
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed...it was a good one. And it was very fun to look back and see what I was reading in past years, and to remember just how good each of these books are. :D
DeleteI love this topic! You should submit this idea because it would be a great one to do! I haven't read any of these but I've got a couple on my TBR.. surprise surprise.. :-D
ReplyDelete:D Those TBR lists just keep growing, don't they?
DeleteGood list. The Uncommon Reader is a fun book & read. Liked it a lot. It might be worth a reread for me!
ReplyDeleteI could happily reread that one, too. :D
DeleteI love the theme you chose for this Top Ten post. What fun to look back on past reads! I haven't read any of these, but several are on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI have a TBR list like that! And it was a lot of fun looking back at past reads. :D
DeleteI love this theme you created for Top 10 Tuesday. I think that would be very fun to do. And it gives a snapshot of your reading over 10 years. I have only read The Uncommon Reader, on this list.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very fun way to put together a list! I think I'll be doing it again sometime, just with a different month. :D
DeleteI'm on the waitlist for the audio of Nora Goes Off Script so I'm glad to see it on your favorites list as well as the Simone St James. I haven't heard much about her earlier titles but they all sound good and I have that one in particular on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite because it's the most ghostly/haunting of her mysteries. And I absolutely adore Nora Goes Off Script. Such a fun romance. :D
